Mixed Results for Broncos at Midland

MIDLAND, Texas - Boise State men’s tennis opened the fall season this weekend at the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational at Midland, Texas, where two Broncos sophomore Pedro Platzeck and freshman Harvey Shackleton had mixed results. Shackleton went 1-2 in singles with a consolation victory over Wichita State’s Austin Williams in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Platzeck struggled in singles fall in all three contests at the tournament.

In doubles the two Broncos teamed up winning their round of 32 match 8-6 versus Auburn’s tandem of Edward Nguyen and Olle Thestrup. The win advanced them into the round of 16 where the duo fell in a tiebreaker 8-7 (1) to the No. 4 seeded team, Texas’s Rodrigo Banzer and Leonardo Telles.
