Broncos Stumble at Denver
April 12, 2018

Box Score

DENVER, Colo. - Jack Heslin’s win at No. 1 singles was not enough to carry Boise State Thursday morning in a 4-1 loss at Denver in a nonconference men’s tennis match. Heslin easily defeated DU’s Mattia Ross on court one in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, but that proved to be the lone victory of the day for the blue and orange.

The loss drops the Broncos to 9-15 overall on the year with matches at Air Force on Friday and New Mexico on Sunday still on the slate for this weekend.

The Pioneers took the momentum early winning the doubles point 2-0 with wins on courts one and two, respectively.

Heslin opened singles play up with his victory on court one to even the team score up at 1-1. Unfortunately, Denver responded with three straight wins on courts two, four and three, respectively, to clinch the team victory.

Boise State’s Pedro Platzeck and Ryland McDermott were both leading their singles matches on courts five and six when the contest was stopped with the Pioneers claiming the win.
