Boise State Falls 4-1 at San Diego State

SAN DIEGO, Calif.  - Boise State’s men’s tennis fell 4-1 at San Diego State in its Mountain West Conference opener Sunday morning. Pedro Platzeck led Boise State recording the lone team point with his straight set victory over Santiago Cevallos 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4 singles.

The Bronco tandem of Ryland McDermott and Brian Tran won their No. 3 doubles match 6-4 over Rafael Gonzalez Almazan and Joel Popov 6-4. But SDSU took the doubles point 2-1.

The loss drops the Broncos to 2-13 on the year with a road trip to Michigan on the slate next weekend to face Michigan State and Michigan.

In other singles play, Boise State’s Kyle Butters was even playing in the third set 6-3, 3-6, 1-1 and Jack Heslin was also in his third set leading 6-4, 3-6, 3-1 when both contests were stopped following the match clinching point by the Aztecs.
