Boise State Goes 4-3 at PCDC

LA JOLLA, Calif.  - Boise State men’s tennis team has gone 4-3 after two days at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship in La Jolla, Calif. The team of Pedro Platzeck and Greg Wischer led the six-man squad winning their first two matches by 8-2 scores to reach the round of 32 before falling 8-5 to the fourth-ranked team in the nation Lucas Gerch and Arjun Kadhe from Oklahoma State.

Kyle Butter and Jack Heslin recorded a win in the round of 128 downing UC Irvine’s Mason Hansen and Tyler Pham 8-4, then fell in the next round to Cal’s fifth-seeded duo of Andre Goransson and Tyler Browne 8-6.

Boise State’s third pair of freshmen Harvey Shackleton and Ryland McDermott lost their first match in heartbreaking fashion 9-8(2) in a tiebreaker, then defeated a independent pair 8-2 in the consolation round of 32. Shackleton and McDermott are the only Boise State team remaining in the competition and play again Saturday morning.
