Boise State Falls at Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Boise State men’s tennis fell 4-0 to the Utah Utes Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah. The night started off with the Utes taking the doubles point from Boise State 2-0 with wins on courts one and two.

Stefan Lalovic and Pedro Platzeck fell 6-1 on court two to Egbert Weverink and Joe Woolley. Utah’s Randy Cory and Russell Benkaim then clinched the doubles point with a win over Kyle Butters and Jack Heslin at the No. 1 position, finishing with a final score of 6-2.

In singles, Matteo Tinelli fell to Dan Little at the No. 2 spot 6-1, 6-3. The Utes’ Santiago Sierra then followed with a win at the No. 4 position, beating the Broncos’ Mattia Bedolo with a score of 6-3, 6-1. The match was clinched when Utah’s Joe Woolley edged out Boise State freshman Stefan Lalovic on court six, 6-4, 6-2, to give the Utes the team the win.

Boise State will continue six weeks of road trips next weekend when the Broncos travel to the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic at Montgomery, Ala.
