Bedolo Leads Broncos on Day Two of NCTC

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Boise State freshman Mattia Bedolo won his singles match in straight sets to lead the Broncos on the second day of the National Collegiate Tennis Classic on Saturday. The native of Venice, Italy, led the three-man Boise State contingent with a 6-2, 6-3 victory in the consolation draw over Brian Berdusco from Pepperdine to move into the consolation quarterfinals on Sunday.

In doubles play, Bedolo and Wyatt DeMulling advanced into today's quarterfinals after a victory on Friday. The Bronco tandem faced Pepperdine's Nicolas Baez and Denis Uspensky this morning falling to the Waves duo 6-3. 

In other consolation singles play on Saturday Mattia Ross from Denver defeated Boise State's DeMulling 6-2, 6-2. 

Maximilien Blancaneaux played two singles matches Saturday falling in both contest. His day began versus Pepperdine's Dane Esses in the back draw where he fell 6-1, 6-2. The junior then faced Denver’s Matt Summers in a match late Saturday afternoon falling 6-0, 7-5. 

All three Broncos will continue play Sunday morning before heading home late Sunday night.
