BOISE – Boise State men’s golf head coach Kevin Burton added two golfers from the Treasure Valley Wednesday, signing David Elliot (Cole Valley Christian HS/Centennial HS) and Mark Brassey (Timberline HS) to National Letters of Intent.

Each will join the Broncos for the 2013-14 season.

“The state of Idaho has produced some phenomenal golf talent over the years, and I believe David and Mark are the two best golfers coming out of high school in the Gem State this year,” Burton said. “They have a great deal of experience at high levels of competition for their age, and I am excited for them to join the Broncos next season.”

Elliot, who attends Cole Valley Christian and competes for Centennial, is ranked in the top 150 nationally amongst 2013 graduates by Golfweek. He finished second at the Idaho 5A state championships this past season, and was the 2011 Idaho Golf Association Junior Golfer of the Year.

Elliot was a member of both the Junior Americas Cup and the Hogan Cup Idaho Teams in 2011 and 2012, and qualified for the 2011 and 2012 Callaway Junior World Golf Tournaments and the 2011 Big I National Junior Tournament. He won the 2012 Magic Valley IGA/PGA Tournament, the 2011 Eagle Amateur Championship and the 2011 Whitetail Invitational, and finished in the top 10 during every IGA Juniors event from 2011-12.

Brassey represented Idaho in 2012 on both the Junior Americas Cup and Hogan Cup Teams, and won the 2012 Callaway Junior World Tournament qualifier at Ridgecrest Golf Club. He won the 2012 John Dropping Invitational at Hillcrest Country Club, the 2011 McCall Junior Amateur Championship and the 2010 Whitetail Junior Invitational.

Timberline’s Most Valuable Player in 2011 and 2012, Brassey finished sixth at the state 5A tournament in 2012 and 11th in 2011. In high school competition he has earned medalist honors seven times the last two seasons.
