► What’s Happening
Boise State University’s men’s golf team is headed off to Las Cruces, N.M., for the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate this Monday and Tuesday.  The Intercollegiate is the fourth and final competition of the fall season for the Broncos. This week’s event is being held at New Mexico State University’s Golf Course where Boise State will be one of 17 teams competing at the event. This is the first time the Broncos have competed in this tournament.

► Recently for the Broncos
The Broncos last competition was the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev., where they tied for 10th place out of 13 teams. They were led by sophomore Blake Brown who placed tied for 21st with a two-over-par 218, followed by senior John Baranco who fired a six-over 222 to finish tied for 45th.

► The Tournament Format
The format for this tournament calls for three rounds over two days. The first 36 holes will be played on Monday, Oct. 26, followed by the final round on Tuesday. The event is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start on both days at 8 a.m. (Mountain).

► The Tournament Course
The Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate is being held at the University Golf Course in Las Cruces, N.M.  For the purpose of this competition the club features a competition course that is a par-72 that spans 7,074 yards.

► The Tournament Field
The 2009 edition of the Intercollegiate features teams from 16 NCAA Division I institutions and one division II. There are four schools from the Western Athletic Conference participating in this tournament including New Mexico State the host institution, Boise State, Idaho and Nevada. Other participating schools for the tournament include: Air Force, Texas State, Kansas State, UTEP, Rhode Island, Nebraska, UNLV, Illinois State, North Texas, Washington State, Kansas, Santa Clara, and Western New Mexico. Over 85 individuals will compete for the team and individual titles.

► Boise State’s Men’s Tournament Roster
This week’s lineup for the Intercollegiate features sophomore Blake Brown who will lead the Broncos into their fourth tournament starting at the number one position averaging 71.4 shots per round. Seniors Robbie Richards (averaging 74.7 spr) and John Baranco (averaging 75.9 spr) will play at the second and third positions respectively, followed by freshmen Taeksoo Kim (averaging 75.5 spr) playing in his third event and junior Chris Byrne (averaging 78.2 spr) in the fourth and fifth spots.
