LAYTON, Utah – Boise State men’s golf senior Scott Spiewak finished eighth at the Wildcat Invitational Tuesday, leading the Broncos to a fifth-place team finish.

Spiewak carded a 54-hole total of 216 (E) at the par-72, 7,147-yard Valley View Golf Course, just four strokes back of the tournament medalist. The eighth-place effort by Spiewak marks his second-straight top-10 finish, and his fourth top 25 in as many tournaments this season.

Junior Jordan Skyles also recorded his fourth-straight top-25 effort, finishing tied for 16th with a three-round total of 220 (+4).

Senior Taylor Porter rounded out a trio of Broncos finishing in the top 25, posting a 54-hole total of 224 (+8) to finish tied for 23rd.

The Broncos finished in fifth place as a team, posting an 882 (+18).

“We didn’t finish where we’d hope to after getting off to a pretty good start, but I have been impressed with what I have seen from this squad this fall,” head coach Kevin Burton said. “We have some time before our next tournament, so we will work on a few things and continue to get better.”

Juniors Taeksoo Kim (226, +10) and Clayton Kosanovich (227, +11) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos. Freshman Jon VanDyk competed as an individual, and posted a 225 (+9).
