Broncos Head to Reno, Nev.

What’s Happening- The Boise State men’s golf team will travel to Reno, Nev., Oct. 2 through Oct. 3, to compete in the Wolf Pack Invitational, hosted by the University of Nevada


The Team- The Wolf Pack Invitational will be the third tournament of the Fall for the Broncos.  After competing in the Purple and Red Invitational and finishing 11th, the Broncos traveled to the Vandal Fall Classic and captured a fourth place finish.


The Players- The five golfers Boise State will be sending to Reno, Nev., include Nick Travers, Troy Merritt, Matt Hastings, Scott Loewen and Shawn Tonkin.


Last week at the Vandal Fall Classic, Nick Travers captured the individual title by shooting an 8-under, 205.  Travers won the first individual title of his career by four strokes over his nearest competitor.  He also posted the low round for Boise State at tournament by shooting a 67 in both the second and third round. 


Troy Merritt also recorded his second top 15 finish of the season in as many attempts.  He finished the tournament in a tie for 14th, with a score of 216(+3).
