Newcomer Troy Merritt Paces the Broncos

Layton, Utah- The Boise State University men’s golf team opened their 2006 Fall season at the Purple and Red Invitational Monday with newcomer Troy Merritt leading the way.

 

The transfer, junior shot a two round score of 141 (-3) to pace the Broncos.  After the first round Merritt found himself even at par (72), he then turned in one of the top ten scores in round two, a three-under par 69 to climb into the top five. 

 

Boise State currently finds themselves two shot behind tenth place Gonzaga and three strokes of the pace of ninth place Northern Colorado

 

The final round of the Purple and Red Invitational will be played Tuesday.
