Men’s Golf Opens 2015-16 Campaign

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s golf team will open its 2015-16 season at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, a tournament hosted by Air Force at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, Sept. 12-13.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. The final round is scheduled to begin with tee times Sunday at 7:30 a.m.

“I’m excited to start the season at Air Force,” head coach Dan Potter said. “We had a competitive qualifying and our guys are eager to compete.”

The Broncos will send senior Logan France, junior Kyle Mitsunaga and a trio of underclassmen to the tournament. Sophomores Jacob Byers and Tristan Rohrbaugh begin their second seasons with Boise State, and freshman Alex Francois will make his collegiate debut.

The Broncos will be joined by five Mountain West schools (Air Force, Colorado State, Nevada, Utah State and Wyoming), and a pair of Pac-12 schools (Colorado and Utah). Also competing in the 16-school field will be Abilene Christian, Northern Colorado, Southern Utah, UMKC, UTEP, Weber State and William & Mary.

The Falcon Invitational is in its 47th season, and is held at the par-72, 7,401-yard Blue Course at the Eisenhower Golf Club.
