BOISE, Idaho – PGA Tour legend John Daly will compete in The Michelob Ultra “Battle of the Big Guns” Shoot-Out at Hillcrest Country Club Monday (Sept. 12), a skins contest in which Daly will donate his winnings to the Boise State men’s and women’s golf programs.

The 9-hole event will tee off at 3 p.m., on the No. 10 tee at Hillcrest. Admission to the event is free to the public.

Daly, a two-time major winner and an 11-time PGA Tour long drive champion, will be competing against Jamie Sadlowski, a back-to-back winner of both the REMAX World Junior Long Drive Championship (2005-06) and the REMAX World Long Drive Championship (2008-09). Sadlowski will donate his winnings from the event to the YMCA Activate Treasure Valley Campaign.

Each hole – or “skin” – at the shoot-out will be assigned a dollar value. The player with the lowest score on each hole wins the skin, and a tie carries the dollar value to the next hole. At the end of the shoot-out, the dollar amount accumulated by each player will go to their respective non-profit organization.

Long drive and closest-to-the-pin contests will also be a part of the event, with an assigned dollar amount attached to each game.

“I am an avid Boise State Bronco football fan,” Daly told tournament organizers. “I think it would be awesome if they would paint the golf course blue! I have always enjoyed playing in Boise, entertaining the fans and spending time in the city. Boise is a great place. I look forward to helping Albertsons raise money for local charities.”

The last time Daly competed in the nine-hole event, he won $9,000 for Boise State golf.
