DeLaet T-6th at Olympics

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – Former Boise State men’s golfer Graham DeLaet shot even par (71) in the second round of the Olympic men’s golf tournament Friday, and will enter the weekend tied for sixth place.

Representing Canada, DeLaet had begun the day tied for second place after opening the tournament with a 5-under 66. He enters the third round trailing tournament leader Marcus Fraser of Australia by five strokes.

DeLaet is scheduled to tee off Saturday at 7:47 a.m. (MT), Saturday. All Olympic coverage will air live, from start to finish, on The Golf Channel.

He is the third Bronco to compete in this year's Olympics, joining incoming freshmen gymnasts Isabella Amado (Panama) and Courtney McGregor (New Zealand).

While at Boise State, DeLaet won 10 collegiate tournaments over his four seasons (2002-06), was named the WAC Player of the Year and competed at the NCAA West Regional as a senior in 2006. In addition to his 10 tournament wins, DeLaet, at the end of his career, held additional school records for career top-10 finishes (26), career top-25 finishes (37), top-10 finishes in a season (nine), top-25 finishes in a season (11), lowest three-round score (203) and lowest two-round score (136).
