BOISE, Idaho A feature including a segment devoted to Boise State University men’s golf Head Coach Kevin Burton is scheduled to air on CBS, Sunday.
With Burton’s qualification into the 2007 PGA Championship, CBS and The Golf Channel interviewed the Bronco coach for a segment entitled “Road to the PGA Championship.”
The piece will air Sunday, July 29, at noon (MST) on CBS before final round coverage of the Canadian Open. The one-hour special takes viewers to the home clubs of the PGA Professionals who play the game at the highest level, but also devote their careers as teachers of the game, merchandisers, business leaders, and parents.
The special will re-air on The Golf Channel seven times: Aug. 5 at 1 p.m.; Aug. 6 at 8 p.m.; Aug. 7 at 3 a.m., 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Aug. 8 at 11:30 a.m.; and Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.
Burton qualified to the PGA Championship via the 40th PGA Professional National Championship at the Sunriver Resort’s Crosswater and Meadows Courses, June 21-24. The field consisted of 312 of the nation’s top club professionals that qualified into the tournament.
Finishing tied for 13th with a 289 (+2), Burton earned an exemption into the PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Okla., August 9-12. The PGA Championship will mark the fifth time in his career that Burton played in a major championship.
