MERIDIAN, Idaho – Rising Boise State University senior Taeksoo Kim won the Idaho Golf Association Men’s State Amateur Championship Sunday, coming from behind to win the title.

Kim fired a 1-under-par 70 in the final round at The Club at SpurWing, overcoming a two-shot deficit to Bronco teammate Jordan Skyles after two rounds and finishing one stroke clear of David Nuhn.

Kim posted rounds of 73-70-70 en route to an even-par 213, the only player in the field to finish at even par.

With a birdie on 16, Kim grabbed the lead and held on over the final two holes for the win.

Skyles, who led the tournament at the conclusion of both the first and second rounds, finished in third place (70-71-74; 215).

Jon VanDyk, a rising sophomore for the Broncos, shot 227 (+14) to finish tied for 18th.

Kim played in each of the Broncos’ 11 tournaments during 2011-12, recording a career-high four top-25 finishes and two top 10s. His scoring average of 72.72 during the season is the eighth-best in Boise State history.
