BOISE, Idaho Boise State University Head Men’s Golf Coach Kevin Burton announced the signing of Kevin Tarango to a letter of intent Wednesday.
Tarango will join Boise State in the fall as a junior. He comes to Boise State via Fresno City College where he was named to the 2006 All-Central Valley Conference team. In 2007, he averaged 73.3 strokes per round to lead the conference while leading FCC to the CVC team title. He posted a 69 (-3) in the CVC tournament which was the low score for an individual in CVC play during the 2007 season.
Prior to attending FCC, he tied for sixth place at the 2006 U.S. Amateur Qualifier with a 3-under, 141. He also registered nine Junior Golf Association Northern California victories while qualifying for the California Interscholastic Federation State Championships.
“Tarango is going to be a terrific addition to our team,” said head coach Kevin Burton. “This guy is a great competitor. He is a hard worker and we are looking forward to adding his experience to the talent group of players we are returning next season.”
