Boise State Takes Seventh at 2010 WAC Men's Golf Championship...
Blake Brown named second-team All-WAC.

HENDERSON, Nev. (5/5/2010) - Boise State University's men's golf team finished the 2010 Club Glove Western Athletic Conference Championship in seventh-place recording a final tally of 904 (+40). Scores were higher across the board on Wednesday as the Broncos recorded their highest team total of the three rounds this afternoon with a 26-over 314.

All nine teams recorded their worse rounds of the competition on the final 18 holes with eventual champion New Mexico State University carding a 6-over 294 today. The Aggies held on to win the team title with a 13-under 851, seven strokes better than second-place University of Nevada at 6-under 858.

Blake Brown led Boise State at the WAC championship finishing with a team-low 6-over 222. The sophomore shot a 5-over 77 this afternoon to finish tied for 22nd. New Mexico State's Tim Madigan lead all three days to claim his first ever WAC individual title with a final score of 14-under 202 (64-68-70).

Boise State senior John Baranco and freshman Taeksoo Kim finished the three-day competition tied for 31st with 13-over 229s. Baranco shot a 6-over 78 on today's final 18, while Kim struggled with an 11-over 83. Senior Robbie Richards had an off day as well with an 11-over 83 Wednesday giving him a final tally of 15-over 231. Freshman Clayton Kosanovich turned in the best round of the day for the Broncos shooting a 4-over 76 as he finished the tournament at 17-over 233.
It was also announced following today's final round that Boise State's Blake Brown was named to the All-WAC Second Team, the only Bronco recognized this year. The 2010 Club Glove WAC Championship marks the end of the Broncos season. Seniors Robbie Richards and John Baranco saw their final action for Boise State this week. They are joined by senior Drew Surmeier who has also finished his collegiate career. Boise State will welcome five letterwinners and one redshirt-sophomore from this year's squad while adding three newcomers for the 2010-11 campaign.
