TUCSON, Ariz. – Boise State senior Scott Spiewak remained in the top 15 at the Mountain West Men’s Golf Championships Saturday, carding a 1-over-par 72 in the second round.
Spiewak posted an even-par 71 in the opening round at the Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National, and his two-round total of 143 (+1) has him in a four-way tie for 14th place headed into Sunday’s final round. He is just two strokes back of the top 10.
Redshirt sophomore Jordan Skyles is also amongst the field’s top 25 after following his opening-round 73 (+2) with a second-round, 3-over 74. His 36-hole total of 147 (+5) is tied for 25th, two strokes back of the top 20.
Junior Taeksoo Kim rebounded from an opening-round 80 (+9) to post an even-par 71 in the second round, the lowest score for the Broncos on the day.
Boise State remained in sixth place, increasing its lead over both Air Force and Wyoming. The Broncos’ two-day team score of 583 (+15) is seven strokes better than both the Falcons and Cowboys.
Freshman Jon VanDyk (75-74--149, +7) and junior Clayton Kosanovich (73-80--153, +11) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.
