BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s golf team has announced the addition of Michael Rizzo for the 2018-19 season, head coach Dan Potter announced on Friday. Rizzo signed a valid Financial Aid Agreement with the Broncos after spending the last two seasons with Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

“I am excited to welcome Michael to our program,” Potter said. “He will fit in great with the guys on our team and in the Boise golf community. Michael has proven that he can excel in the classroom and on the course at the Division I level, and he wants to get after it the next two years in order to pursue a professional career. He is an explosive player who is very athletic and I am humbled that he chose Boise State and our program to pursue his goals for the next two years.”

Rizzo will enter Boise State as a junior this upcoming fall. In his two years with Texas-Rio Grande Valley, he competed in 12 tournaments. Rizzo has notched three top 10 finishes, with his career high being in seventh-place at the Roadrunner Invitational as a freshman.

A native of Brantford, Ontario, Rizzo previously attended St. John’s College, serving as the team captain his junior and senior years, winning the Western Ontario Championship in his final year as a prep.
