Kim tied for 11th, Kosanovich moves into 16th.

HENDERSON, Nev. (5/3/2011) - Boise State University’s men’s golf team fired a 309 (+21) on the second day of the Club Glove Western Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Championship Tuesday afternoon to climb two positions into seventh-place. New Mexico State University has claimed a commanding lead in the team competition with an 8-over-par 584. Taeksoo Kim continues to lead the Broncos with a 6-over 150, tied for 11th-place. 

The New Mexico State Aggies shot a 7-over 295 today to rally from second-place yesterday to take a commanding nine-stroke lead over Monday’s leader Fresno State who sits at 17-over 593. Four strokes back in third is San Jose State University with a two-round score of 21-over 597.

Boise State has been consistent as the Broncos matched yesterday’s total of 309 (+21) but still managed to climb to positions on the leaderboard. Both Utah State University and the University of Hawai’i struggled this afternoon to fall below the Broncos with two-day scores of 619 (+43) and 621 (+45), respectively.

The University of Idaho’s Damian Telles maintained his hold on the individual leaderboard with a tournament total of 5-under-par 139. His lead is now three-strokes over Bryan Hogan of Fresno State at 2-under 142, Mark Hubbard of San Jose State sits in third at 1-under 143.

Taeksoo Kim continues to lead the Broncos at the championship but slipped a bit on day two recording a 5-over 77 for a two-day score of 6-over 150, good for a five-way tie for 11th. Close behind is Clayton Kosanovich who rallied from a tie for 29th into a three-way tie for 16th with a 2-over 74 this afternoon, he now has a tournament total of 7-over 151. 

Rounding out the scoring for Boise State was Charlie Marusiak who shot a 7-over 79 today giving him a total of 16-over 160. He is followed by Taylor Porter at 17-over 161 (78-83). Scott Spiewak responded from yesterday’s disappointment with a second-round score of 7-over 79.

The final round of the WAC tournament will take place Wednesday with Boise State once again paired up with Utah State and Hawai’i. The start time for the final 18 holes has been moved up one half hour and will start at 8:00 a.m. (Mountain) by tee times.
