Boise State Moves Into Seventh at WAC Men's Golf Championship...

Kim fires a 1-under par 71 today.

HENDERSON, Nev. (5/4/2010) - The Boise State Broncos shot a solid 1-over-par 289 in the second round of the Club Glove Western Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship Tuesday. With two of three rounds down at the tournament the Broncos have a team score of 14-over 590 (301-289) to pass Utah State this afternoon moving into seventh-place on the leaderboard out of nine teams. Unfortunately, most of the teams at the WAC championship can claim they had solid rounds including New Mexico State University who lit up the competition recording a 14-under 274 today to take over the team lead with a 19-under 557, the Aggies lead the University of Nevada by four strokes.

On the individual side today four Broncos recorded decent rounds between 71 and 73. Sophomore Blake Brown continues to lead Boise State firing a 1-over 73 this afternoon giving him a two-round tally of 1-over 145 placing him in a five-way tie for 18th. New Mexico State's Tim Madigan shot a 4-under 68 today which kept him at the top of the leaderboard with a 12-under 132, four strokes better than second place Scott Smith of Nevada.

Boise State freshman Taeksoo Kim became the first Bronco at this year's WAC championship to record a round below par with a 1-under 71 on today's 18. He remains in a tie for 23rd with a 2-over 146 heading into tomorrow's final round.

Seniors Robbie Richards and John Baranco followed the two underclassmen for the Boise State team. Richards carded a second-round score of even-par 72 to give him an overall tally of 4-over 148 tying for 27th-place. Meanwhile, Baranco rallied today shaving five strokes off his first-round score with a 1-over 73 this afternoon. The senior from Boise now stands at 7-over 151 and tied for 33rd. Rounding out the Bronco scoring was freshman Clayton Kosanovich who shot a 7-over 79 today giving him a two-round total of 13-over 157.

The final round of the 2010 Club Glove WAC Championship will be staged Wednesday morning with the Broncos teeing off one-half hour earlier at 8:00 a.m. paired with Utah State and Hawai'i.
