Kim Leads Trio of Broncos in Top 25
PROVO, Utah – Boise State junior men’s golfer Taeksoo Kim concluded his regular season on a high note Saturday, finishing tied for seventh place at the Cougar Classic.

Kim notched his career-high second top-10 finish of the season – and his first this spring – after firing rounds of 72-70-72 at the par-72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club.

Senior Scott Spiewak finished tied for 17th with a three-round total of 219 (+3), and junior Clayton Kosanovich rounded out a trio of Broncos in the top 25, finishing tied for 25th with a 54-hole total of 222 (+6).

Kosanovich made a 14-place jump up the leaderboard following his 2-under 70 in the final round.

The trio moved the Broncos into a sixth-place tie with fellow Mountain West squad Air Force. The Broncos also finished eight strokes ahead of league foe Wyoming, carding a team score of 879 (+15).

Freshman Jon VanDyk posted a three-round total of 225 (+9), while senior Taylor Porter rebounded from a rough first day to shoot 73 (+1) in the final round, finishing with a 54-hole total of 234 (+18).

Redshirt sophomore Jordan Skyles, playing as an individual, posted a final-round 73 (+1) en route to a total of 225 (+9).

With the 2011-12 regular season now behind them, the Broncos will prepare for the MW Championships, held May 4-6, at the Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National in Tucson, Ariz.
