Men's Golf Finishes First Round of El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. - Boise State junior Ty Travis finished one stroke back of the top 25 after the first round of the El Macero Classic, Friday.

After bogeying three of his first four holes, Travis went even-par the rest of the way, including an eagle on No. 15 and a birdie on No. 2. He finished the round with a 3-over 75, and will enter Saturday's second round tied for 27th.

Boise State got off to a slow start as well, with the four counting scorers combining to go 10-over through the first four holes. Through the final 14 holes, the Broncos went 13-over.

Boise State completed its opening round at 312 (+24), and will enter the second round in 11th.

Freshman David Elliott and sophomore Shane Allor are each three strokes back of the top 25 after finishing with scores of 77 (+5).

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were sophomore Logan France (83, +11) and redshirt senior Jordan Skyles (85, +13).

Tee times are set to begin tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. (MT) and live scoring will be available at golfstat.com.
