Regular-season Finale for Broncos
April 14, 2016

COACH POTTER’S TIP OF THE WEEK: We are playing a narrow, tree-lined course. It's important to pick small targets off the tee in order to hit the narrower fairways. Rather than aiming at a tree in the distance, pick a small branch on the tree to aim at. The more specific and small the target, the better.

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s golf team will travel to El Macero, Calif., for the squad’s regular-season finale, the El Macero Classic, April 15-17.

The three-day, three-round tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,912-yard El Macero Country Club. The teams will play 18 holes each day, Friday through Sunday, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. (MT) Friday.

Saturday is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., and Sunday is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

“This is a course that requires more precision. It's different from courses that we've played recently and more similar to what we will see at the Mountain West Championships next week,” head coach Dan Potter said. “There is a solid field here and this is great preparation in addition to being a terrific event.”

Joining the Broncos in the 14-shool field will be tournament-host UC Davis, Air Force, Fairleigh Dickinson, Fresno State, Marquette, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Sacramento State, Seattle, TCU, Texas Tech and UC Riverside.

Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.

Traveling for the Broncos will be:

Kyle Mitsunaga
Tristan Rohrbaugh
Logan France
David Elliott
Jacob Byers

The Broncos last played in the El Macero Classic in 2014, finishing 11th as a team.

This weekend’s event will be the Broncos’ final tune-up before the Mountain West Championships, held April 22-24, at Omni Tucson National in Tucson, Ariz.
