Chambers Bay Awaits Broncos
April 1, 2016

COACH POTTER’S TIP OF THE WEEK: This will be the second tournament we will have played on firm, fescue grass typical of links-style courses. Shots into the green and around the hole can be played a number of different ways due to the big slopes and firm ground condition. Any time you are chipping, pitching or lag putting around big slopes, always find the natural fall line in the terrain leading down toward the hole. It's easier to spot this by walking to the low side of the slope and seeing where a ball would roll down to the hole by gravitational force only. That will help you pick your aiming point for those long, sloped putts and chip shots.

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s golf team will travel to University Place, Wash., to compete in the SeattleU Redhawk Invitational, presented by OGIO, April 4-5.

The tournament will be held at the Chambers Bay Golf Club, site of the 2015 U.S. Open.

“We are so lucky to play some of the venues on our schedule,” head coach Dan Potter said. “Chambers Bay is yet another special place. Last year our guys were so excited to be playing it right before the U.S. Open. This year, they know what to expect and are looking forward to getting another crack at it. The excitement is still there but expectations are higher this time around.”

The three-round event will consist of 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday, with a 9 a.m. (MT) shotgun start each day.

Joining the Broncos and tournament-host Redhawks in the 16-team field will be British Columbia, DePaul, Loyola Marymount, Loyola-Chicago, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, Oregon State, Seton Hall, TCU, UMKC, Utah Valley, Washington and Washington State.

Boise State will send the following line-up to Chambers Bay:

Logan France
Kyle Mitsunaga
Tristan Rohrbaugh
David Elliott
Connor Bell
