DeLaet Makes Move at Regional Championships
TUCSON, Ariz. Boise State University senior Graham DeLaet moved into a tie for 31st at the 141-player NCAA West Regional Men’s Golf Championships, Friday, firing a second-round 3-under 69 at the 7,200-yard Omni Tucson National Golf Club.

The round catapulted DeLaet 20 places up the leaderboard, leaving him only three strokes back of the top 10. DeLaet, the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year, recorded birdies on holes four and five, and eagled the par-5 eighth hole en route to a 3-under 33 on the front side. He recorded two more birdies on the back nine to increase his tournament-total to seven.

The tournament marks DeLaet’s third career trip to the NCAA Regional Championships, with his best finish coming in 2004 when he tied for 47th. He is one of only three players in school history to earn an invite to the event as an individual, and the only Bronco to earn multiple invites. Jon Herendeen finished tied for 16th in 1994, the best finish at the event for a Boise State golfer.

Of the 27 teams competing, 10 will advance to the NCAA Championships at the Crosswater Country Club at the Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore. The top two individual finishers not on the 10 advancing teams will also earn a bid to the championships.

DeLaet is scheduled to begin his third and final round at 8:23 a.m. (PDT), Saturday. Tournament results will be posted at www.broncosports.com following Wednesday’s final round. Live scoring is also available at www.golfstat.com.
