Men's Golf Head's to the Oregon Coast for the Bandon Dunes Championships...
► What’s Happening
Boise State University’s men’s golf team is off to its third tournament of the spring season when it competes at the Bandon Dunes Champion this Thursday and Friday. This seven-team event is sponsored by Gonzaga University and is being held at  the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.

► The Tournament Format
The format for this tournament calls for three rounds played THursday and Friday, March 12-13. The first 36 holes will be staged on Thursday, followed by the final round on Friday. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. (Mountain) each day.

► The Tournament Course
The tournament is being held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, in Bandon, Ore., which over looks the Pacific coast line. This competition will be staged on the resort’s Pacific Dunes course which will feature a 6,536-yard competition course for this event for a par 71. Designed by Tom Doak, Pacific Dunes opened in 2001.  It is remarkably different in character and shot making requirements than the other courses at the resort. Pacific Dunes doesn’t feel like it was built as much as it was discovered. Rippling fairways remain just as they were found and natural bunkers line the landscape as they have for centuries. The course emerges from shore pines to spectacular 60-foot sand dunes. When the wind blows, precise approach shots are a necessity. Pacific Dunes is short enough to give you hope, but rugged enough to test every facet of your game.

► The Tournament Field
The Bandon Dunes Championship features teams from seven NCAA Division I institutions. Boise State and the University of Idaho will be representing the Western Athletic Conference in this competition. Other participating schools for the tournament include: the host school Gonzaga, as well as, British Columbia, Notre Dame, Utah Valley and Weber State. Over 30 individuals will compete for the team and individual titles.

► Boise State’s Men’s Tournament Roster
This week’s lineup for the Broncos features sophomore Blake Brown starting at the number one position. Senior Robbie Richards will follow at the second slot, senior Drew Surmeier will open at the three, senior John Baranco at the four with junior Chris Byrne rounding out the five-man roster.

► Last Time Out
This is the third competition for Boise State this spring following a seven-place finish out of 13 teams at the ReBath Snowman Getaway in Chandler, Ariz., Feb. 22-23. The Broncos were led by sophomore Blake Brown who carded a 6-over 222 to finish in a tie for 13th place during the 54-hole event.
