France, Travis Named Golfers of the Week

Feb. 12, 2014

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State sophomore Logan France and junior Ty Travis were named Mountain West Men's Golfers of the Week for Jan. 28-Feb. 11, the league office announced Wednesday.

The duo shared the award with Utah State sophomore Seokwon Jeon after each finished tied for third place at the Thunderbird Invitational earlier this week.

The award is the second-straight for Travis, who was named MW Men's Golfer of the Month at the conclusion of the fall portion of the 2013-14 season.

France (67-73) and Travis (68-72) each concluded the Thunderbird Invitational with two-round totals of 4-under 140 at the 6,801-yard Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.

For France, the finish was the best of his career and his second top-10 effort of the season. His opening-round 5-under 67 is his lowest round as a Bronco.

France had nine birdies at the Thunderbird Invitational, tied for the second-most in the field.

Travis now has three top-10 finishes in six tournaments since joining Boise State prior to the season, and has finished in the top 25 at each event. He has shot par-or-better in 12 of his 17 rounds this season.
