► What’s Happening
Boise State University’s men’s golf team opens the 2010 spring season this week at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational in St. George, Utah. The 11 team tournament is hosted by Southern Utah University and will run Monday and Tuesday at the Sunbrook Golf Club.

► The Tournament Format
The format for this tournament calls for one round each day for a total of 36 holes. The first 18 will be played on Monday, Feb. 8, followed by the final round on Tuesday. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (Mountain) each day.

► The Tournament Course
The tournament is being held at Sunbrook Golf Club, in St. George, Utah, using the Point and Black Rock nines. The tournament will play at par-72 over the 6,758-yard layout.

► The Tournament Field
The 2009 edition of the Thunderbird Invitational features teams from 11 NCAA Division I institutions. Boise State and Utah State are the only two Western Athletic Conference teams participating in this year’s tournament. Other participating schools for the tournament include: Oral Roberts, UMKC, Western Illinois, Butler University, Seattle University, IPFW, College of Charleston, Cal State Fullerton, and the host school Southern Utah. Over 55 individuals will compete for the team and individual titles.

► Boise State’s Men’s Tournament Roster
This week’s lineup for the Thunderbird Invitational features sophomore Blake Brown, senior Robbie Richards, freshman Taeksoo Kim, junior Joey Lovell, and freshman Clayton Kosanovich. Brown and Richards are competing in their fifth tournament of the year, Kim’s fourth, and Kosanovich’s second. Lovell returns to the roster after taking the fall off to focus on classes. This is his first competition for Boise State since transferring from Lewis-Clark State College during the summer of 2008, he redshirted during the 2008-09 campaign.
