PRINCEVILLE, Hawai'i - Boise State junior men's golfer Ty Travis is tied for 21st following the opening round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational Monday, leading the Broncos in the final event of the fall season.

Travis fired a 2-under par 70 at the 7,223-yard Princeville Makai Golf Club at the St. Regis Princeville Resort, carding four birdies and two bogeys. He is one of 38 golfers in the field under par, and will enter the second round two strokes back of the top 10.

Mississippi State's Chad Ramey fired a 9-under 63 to lead the tournament after the opening round.

Boise State carded a team score of 294 (+6) on the opening day, and is tied for 17th with tournament-host Hawai'i. The Broncos are six strokes back of the top 10.

Cal State Fullerton leads the event after firing a 16-under 272.

Freshman David Elliott recorded 17 pars and a bogey en route to a 1-over 73, and will enter the second round three strokes back of the top 25.

Rounding out the Bronco contingent were sophomore Logan France (74, +2), redshirt senior Jordan Skyles (77, +5) and sophomore Shane Allor (79, +7).

Boise State is scheduled to begin teeing off for the second round Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. (MT).
