USAFA, Colo. - Boise State men's golf moved up a spot in Sunday's final round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational to finish eighth overall.

The Bronco quintet of David Elliott, Donny Hopoi, Connor Johnstone, Tristan Rohrbaugh and Mason Schulze combined for a team score of 297 (+9) for the day, finishing the tournament with a team score of 900 (299-304-297), 36 strokes over par.

Rohrbaugh led the Broncos Saturday with an even-par 72 with Hopoi behind him at two-over 74. Jhonstone shot a 75 with Elliott rounding out the scoring with a 76 and Schulze carding a 79. For the tournament, Elliott finished tied for 26th with a seven-over 223 (72-75-76) and Rohrbaugh also closed in the top 30, ending up tied for 28th with an eight-over 224 (78-74-72).

"We stumbled again on the home stretch today. It was a combination of hard holes and bad shots," said Boise State head coach Dan Potter. "We made some birdies this morning when the conditions were perfect but we need to do a much better job of hitting the tough shots when we need to."

UNLV and UTEP shared the team title with matching team scores of 863 (-1), while UNLV's John Oda captured the individual title with a 10-under-par 206 (70-67-69).

Boise State returns to Colorado for its next competition, traveling to Erie for the Mark Simpson Invitational from Sept. 26-27.
