PULLMAN, Wash. - Junior Ty Travis notched a top-25 finish in his first event with the Boise State men's golf team Tuesday, leading the Broncos at the season-opening Itani Quality Homes Collegiate.

Travis, who transferred from Weber State prior to this season, made the most of his Bronco debut - firing a 5-under 65 in the second round Monday, tied for the lowest round of the tournament and one stroke shy of the tournament record.

The round is also tied for the fifth-lowest in school history.

Travis finished with a three-round total of 212 (75-65-72, +2), concluding the event in 18th.

Sophomore Logan France carded the Broncos' lowest round of the final day, posting a 1-over 71. He also shot 1-over in the second round, and finished with a 54-hole total of 220 (78-71-71, +10).

The Broncos posted rounds of 295-280-294 as a team, finishing ninth with a score of 869 (+29).

Boise State's second-round, even-par 280 was tied for the fifth-lowest single-round score for a team at the tournament.

"We were able to turn it around yesterday in the second round, but we didn't carry that momentum into today," head coach Kevin Burton said. "With a lot of new faces playing their first rounds as Broncos, I'm confident that we will be able to better capitalize on our successes as we progress through the season."

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were redshirt senior Jordan Skyles (73-69-77--219, +9), freshman David Elliott (74-75-76--225, +15) and freshman Mark Brassey (73-81-75--229, +5).

Sophomore Shane Allor competed as an individual, finishing with a three-round total of 233 (75-78-80, +19).

Tournament host Washington State won the event with a score of 836 (-4), and the Cougars' Blake Snyder and San Jose State's Cody Black tied for medalist honors with a 7-under 203.

The Broncos have next week off, but will host the third-annual Dash Thomas Memorial Sept. 23-24.
