COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State senior men's golfer Ty Travis fired a 2-under 70 in his final round of the Gene Memorial Falcon Invitational Sunday, concluding the 54-hole tournament 1-under and tied for 16th place.

Travis posted rounds of 74-71-70 at the par-72, 7,401-yard Eisenhower Blue Course at the United States Air Force Academy, finishing just two strokes back of the top 10.

The Falcon Invitational was the Broncos' first tournament under the direction of head coach Dan Potter. "It felt great to put on some blue and orange, and represent Boise State in my first tournament as a head coach," Potter said. "Team-wise we have plenty of potential, but we need to get a lot better. We made far too many unforced errors from start to finish, and it reflected in our scores."

The Broncos finished in 13th place as a team, following a three-round total of 891 (298,296,297, +27).

UNLV shot 838 (-26) to win the tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were junior Logan France (75, 75, 76--226, +10), freshman Tristan Rohrbaugh (73, 78, 75--226, +10), sophomore David Elliott (76, 74, 78--228, +12), and freshman Jacob Byers (76, 76, 7--238, +12).

Boise State continues its fall season at the Saint Mary's Invitational in Seaside, Calif., Sept. 15-16.
