Travis, Allor Finish Strong at MW Championships

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Boise State senior men's golfer Ty Travis led the Broncos at the 2015 Mountain West Championships, finishing tied for 15th, Sunday.

Travis carded rounds of 72-70-72 at the par-71, 7,144-yard Catalina Course at the Omni Tucson National Resort, finishing with a three-round total of 214 (+1).

The finish was Travis's sixth inside the top 25 this season, and he completed the 2014-15 season with a scoring average of 73.18.

Junior Shane Allor finished tied for 24th, marking his fifth top-25 finish in his past seven tournaments. He concluded the tournament with a 54-hole total of 218 (73, 72, 73 -- +5).

The Broncos concluded the conference championships in 6th place with an 872 (295, 286, 291 -- +20).

"This was a positive results for us. All year we talked about needing to be tougher. This week nobody had their best game but the guys all hung tough and competed well," commented head coach Dan Potter. "I'm proud of of the way this group progressed and matured as players. We still have a long way to go, but I'm happy Ty Travis goes out on a positive note. I'm excited for the future of this team."

Junior Logan France (76, 71, 74 -- 221, +8), sophomore Kyle Mitsunaga (74, 75, 72 -- 221, +8) and sophomore David Elliott (80, 73, 77 -- 230, +17) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.

San Diego State took home the team title with a 835 (-17), and UNLV's Kurt Kitayama earned medalist honors after finishing with an 11-under 202.
