Mitsunaga Tied For Third At OGIO-UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Boise State sophomore men's golfer Kyle Mitsunaga is tied for third place after the opening rounds of the OGIO-UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate, Monday.

Mitsunaga fired an eagle and four birdies to climb the leaderboard in the second round, completing the day with a 1-over 145 (76-69) at the par-72, 7,068-yard Sandpiper Golf Club.

Freshman Jacob Byers will also enter Tuesday's final round in the top 10, following rounds of 74-73 (147, +3). Senior Ty Travis notched an eagle and six birdies total on the day, with three coming consecutively in the second round, for a two-round total of 150 (77-73 -- +6).

Boise State carded a team score of 592 (300-292-- +16) and will enter the final round in fourth place. Tournament host UC Santa Barbara leads the field at 582 (+6).

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were junior Shane Allor (73-80 -- 153, +9) and freshman Tristan Rohrbaugh (80-77-- 157, +13).

The final round is set to begin tomorrow morning, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. (MT) on holes one and 10. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
