Broncos Finish 10th In Eugene

    EUGENE, Ore. - Boise State fired a 12-over 296 as a team Tuesday to finish 10th at the Duck Invitational at the par-71 Eugene Country Club.

    The Broncos' finished with a three-round score of 889 (+37). Host Oregon captured the team title at 8-under (844), 18 strokes ahead of runner-up Arizona. On the individual leaderboard, the Ducks' Sulman Raza took home medalist honors at 8-under (67-64-74), three strokes ahead of teammate Wyndham Clark.

    "We just never really got it going all three rounds. We're normally a good putting team but we struggled this week," said Boise State head coach Dan Potter. "We didn't look like ourselves this week, so we'll have to refocus before our next event."

    For the Broncos, freshman Connor Johnstone had the top round of the day, firing his second-straight 72 (+1) and finishing the tournament at 13-over (82-72-72). Junior Tristan Rohrbuagh was the top Bronco for the tournament, finishing tied for 42nd in the field at 10-over after carding a 75 Tuesday for the second-straight round. Junior Donny Hopoi shot a 73 Tuesday to finish the tournament at 11-over with freshman Brian Humphreys a stroke behind him at 12-over and fellow freshman Mason Schulze coming in at 16-over.

    Boise State returns to action April 10-11 for its final regular-season tournament, traveling to Provo, Utah, for the PING Cougar Classic. The tournament will serve as the Broncos' final tuneup prior to the Mountain West Championships, set for April 21-23 in Tucson, Ariz.
