Travis in Top 10 at Duck Invitational

CRESWELL, Ore. - Boise State junior men's golfer Ty Travis is tied for sixth place following the first two rounds of the Duck Invitational, Monday.

Travis fired rounds of 72-73, and at 1-over through the first day of competition at the Emerald Valley Country Club, is only four strokes back of tournament leader Byron Meth of Pacific.

Travis will be looking for his fourth top-10 finish in eight starts this season Tuesday, and his second of the spring.

Freshman David Elliott is tied for 20th with a 36-hole score of 147 (74-73, +3), and will enter the final round looking for a second-straight top-25 effort.

The Broncos are in sixth place as a team with a score of 594 (295-299, +18), four strokes behind league rival Nevada and a stroke clear of a two-way tie between Idaho and Colorado. Oregon State leads the field at 582 (+6).

Redshirt senior Jordan Skyles (74-76--150, +6), sophomore Logan France (79-77--156, +12) and freshman Kyle Mitsunaga (75-82--157, +13) rounded out the scoring for the Broncos.

Tuesday's final round is slated to begin with a 9:30 a.m. (MT) shotgun start, and live results are available at Golfstat.com.
