ST. GEORGE, Utah - Boise State men's golfers Logan France and Ty Travis each finished tied for third place at the Thunderbird Invitational Tuesday, the first tournament of the spring season for the Broncos.

France (67-73) and Travis (68-72) each concluded the 36-hole event with totals of 4-under 140 at the 6,801-yard Sunbrook Golf Club, six strokes back of medalist J.T. Timmons of Utah Valley.

For France, a sophomore, the finish is the best of his career and his second top-10 effort of the season.

Travis, a junior, now has three top-10 finishes in six tournaments since joining Boise State prior to the season, and has finished in the top 25 at each event.

Redshirt senior Jordan Skyles fired a final-round 1-under 71, moving into the top 25. His two-round total of 148 (77-71, +4) was good for a tie for 21st, his seventh-career top-25 finish and his first since finishing tied for 23rd at the Cougar Classic, April 26-27, 2013.

The trio led Boise State to a third-place team finish with a total of 583 (291-292, +7), just one stroke back of second.

Seattle won the tournament with a 3-under 573 (290-283).

Freshman Mark Brassey recorded the first top-25 finish of his Bronco career, concluding the event in a tie for 13th. He carded a two-round total of even-par 144 (70-74). His opening-round 2-under 70 was his lowest score of the season.

Brassey competed as an individual, and thus his score did not count toward the team total.

Rounding out the scoring for the Broncos were freshmen David Elliott (79-77--156, +12) and Kyle Mitsunaga (82-76--158, +14).

Boise State continues its spring season next month at the Sacramento State Invitational, March 10-11.
