Round One Results

SOOMIS, Calif. –
Despite darkness suspending the second round of the Waves Challenge, the Boise State men’s golf team will enter the final day of competition within striking distance of a strong finish, Monday at Saticoy Country Club. All Broncos made it through at least 12 holes of the second round, with all remaining holes being played tomorrow morning starting at 9 a.m. (MT).

“Today was an extremely hard day. The scores reflect the difficulty,” head coach Dan Potter said. “There are no easy holes or easy shots on this course and gusty winds exaggerated things. That said, I think we’re better than we played today. I’m hopeful we learned some things we can benefit from tomorrow. There is plenty of golf left and we can execute better.”

The Broncos are in a tie for fourth at +40, but are only two strokes back of second-place UC Santa Barbara.

A pair of Broncos finished the day in the top 10, led by sophomore Brian Humphreys in a tie for sixth at +7 (78). Humphreys is currently shooting 1-over in the second round.

Tristan Rohrbaugh rose to a tie for eighth and is currently shooting 3-over in the second round, +8 overall (77).

Senior Donny Hopoi is in a tie for 19th a +10 on the day, while Jun Ho Won (+15) and Mason Schulze (+16) round out Boise State’s lineup.

The third and final round will commence immediately following the conclusion of the remaining holes of the second round. Live results will be provided by golfstat.com.
