Hopoi Wins, Broncos Set Record

Senior Donny Hopoi notched the first victory of his career, while the team established a new school record for a three-round score.

BOISE STATE CAREER
SENIOR (2017-18): Opened the spring season at the Waves Challenge (Jan. 29-30), finishing in a tie for 12th. Shot 228 (80-73-75, +12) en route to his fourth top 25 finish of the season . . . Appeared in all five tournaments of the fall season, recording one of the top fall seasons in the nation . . . Ended the fall ranked tied for 43rd in the nation with a scoring average of 70.13 . . . 12 of his 15 rounds of the fall season were at par-or-better, finishing in the top 10 twice and top 25 on four occasions . . . Opened the season with his first collegiate victory at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate (Sept. 11-12). Shot 200 (71-63-65, -13) en route to medalist honors. Second round score of 63 is tied for the third best score in program history, while his third round score of 65 is tied for the sixth best individual round score . . . Was the top Boise State finisher at The Jackrabbit in a tie for 11th (Oct. 1-3). Shot 209 (70-69-70, -7) to record his second-consecutive top 25 season . . . Notched a top 10 finish in a tie for 6th at the Southern Dunes Invitational (Oct. 13-14), moving 18 spots up the leaderboard over the final two rounds (75-69-70 – 214, -2) . . . Shot 2-over at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational (Oct. 26-28) . . . Notched his fourth top 25 finish of the season at the Ka’Anapali Classic Collegiate in his home state of Hawaii (Nov. 3-5). Shot 211 (69-72-70, -2) to finish in a tie for 22nd

JUNIOR (2016-17): Appeared in 11 tournaments during his first season at Boise State...turned in a pair of top-six finishes and three top-20 efforts...made his Boise State debut at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational (Sept. 10-11), carding a three-round score of 79-77-74 (220, +14)...finished tied for 18th at the Ogio Utah Invitational (Oct. 3-4) with a final score of 148 (+6, 73-75)...shot 218 (+5) to finish tied for 34th at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational (Oct. 27-29)...led the Broncos with a T-36th finish at the Ka'Anapali Collegiate Classic, shooting 1-over 214 (Nov. 4-6)...posted top-career finish of sixth place at the Folino Invitational (Jan. 30-31), finishing at 3-over (77-71-71)...part of winning Bronco team at the Del Walker Intercollegiate (Feb. 27-28), finished tied for 22nd at 8-over (72-73-73)...shot 7-over (71-77-75) at the Bandon Dunes Championship (March 12-14)...fired a 5-over (76-73-72=221) at the Duck Invitational (April 10-11)...finished tied for 39th at the PING Cougar Classic, closing at 5-over (April 10-11)...took second at the Mountain West Championships (April 21-23), finishing at 10-under, just two strokes back of teammate and medalist Brian Humphreys (-12)...tied for lowest round on Sunday, carding a 5-under 67 to move up from fourth place to a tie for first before finishing second.

DIXIE STATE CAREER
SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Helped lead the Trailblazers to a second-straight Pacific West Conference Championship...named first-team All-PacWest, leading the Trailblazers with a scoring average of 73.74 through 10 tournaments...recorded three top-15 finishes, including a tie for 13th at the NCAA Division II West/South Regional Championships, and a tie for seventh at the Pacific West Conference Championships.

FRESHMAN (2014-15): Earned second-team All-PacWest honors, helping lead DSU to the PacWest Championship...ranked fourth on the team in scoring average (74.58)...finished fifth at the conference tournament, one of three top-15 efforts during his collegiate debut.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Lettered four times and picked up four all-star team selections, while qualifying for the United States Amateur and the USGA Pub Links.
