The Broncos were back at Scottsdale Community College on Wednesday, as the team did a lifting session rather than a full team practice.  Boise State will continue on field practice drills on Thursday afternoon at Scottsdale CC in preparation for Monday's 2010 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Each Bronco received a post-Christmas blue and orange gift after finishing up weights on Wednesday, as players were treated to new blue and orange nike football cleats, which the team will wear Monday night.

-----
Boise State equipment manager Dale Hoste and his staff of 8 students have turned Scottsdale Community College into a makeshift Bronco practice field.  The group spent December 23rd and 24th loading the Air Van Bronco painted semi for the trip to Arizona.  More than 20,000 pounds of equipment, pads, video gear and training materials in all were put on board and been transported between the team hotel in Scottsdale and Scottsdale Community Center.

Between Boise State and TCU, 15 different players were honored as first team all-league selections in either the WAC or Mountain West Conference.  The six honored Broncos are quarterback Kellen Moore, cornerback Kyle Wilson, defensive end Ryan Winterswyk, offensive tackle Nate Potter and wide receivers Austin Pettis and Titus Young.  Horned Frog honorees by the Mountain West are defensive end Jerry Hughes, quarterback Andy Dalton, return specialist Jeremy Kerley, linebacker Daryl Washington, kicker Ross Evans, cornerbacks Rafael Priest and Nick Sanders and offensive tackles Marcus Cannon and Marshall Newhouse.

Here's one for the did you know category.  Boise State and TCU rank first and ninth in the nation, respectively, for the fewest number of seniors on the active roster.  The Broncos have just five seniors on their Fiesta Bowl roster, while TCU has only 13, for a total of just 18 seniors on the field Monday night.  Counter that with 158 freshmen or sophomores between the two teams.  Present...and future is bright for both 2010 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl participants.

Day two at the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl was primarily business for the Broncos.  The team held a two hour practice at Scottsdale Community College, Boise State's football home away from home for the next five days.  Scottsdale CC has one of the most unique mascots in collegiate athletics, the Fighting Artichokes.  Their official school colors, Green and Pink, although the Scottsdale CC teams wear red, white and blue.  Hmmm.

Junior wide receiver Austin Pettis participated in Tuesday's practice, jogging through routes and drills early in practice.  His every movement was under the careful eye of head athletic trainer Marc Paul and team doctor George Wade.  Head coach Chris Petersen mentioned on Monday that the first team All-WAC selection was most likely a game time decision for Monday's Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.  Boise State's other wide receiver injury of note is Tyler Shoemaker.  The sophomore missed the Broncos final three games of the regular season due to hernia surgery but has been active in both practices in Scottsdale so far this week.
