Broncos Move to No. 7 in BCS Standings

                BOISE, Idaho - A 52-35 win at San Diego State, coupled with losses by three teams ranked ahead of Boise State (9-1), moved the Broncos up three spots in this week's Bowl Championship Series Standings to No. 7.

                The three teams that were upset last weekend include previous No. 2 Oklahoma State (31-37 loss to Iowa State), No. 4 Oregon (35-38 to USC) and No. 5 Oklahoma (38-45 to Baylor).  Boise State was 10th in last week's standings before downing the Aztecs this past Saturday night. 

                Boise State also moved up three positions in the two human polls that make up two-thirds of the BCS scoring system.  The Broncos moved from No. 11 to No. 8 in both the USA Today Coaches and Harris Interactive polls.  Boise State has the also has the eighth highest computer average which makes up the final third of the BCS point totals.

                The Broncos are ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press media poll which does not count in the BCS Standings.

                For the first time this season, LSU recorded a perfect score of 1.000 in the BCS Standings.  The Tigers are No. 1 in all the polls and the computers.  LSU and the University of Houston are the only two remaining undefeated teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision.  Houston is No. 8 in the BCS.

                Following LSU in the BCS Standings are SEC schools Alabama and Arkansas at No. 2 and 3, respectively, Oklahoma State from the Big 12 at No. 4, Virginia Tech from the ACC at No. 5 and No. 6 Stanford from the Pac-12. 

                Boise State has now been ranked in the top-25 for 58 consecutive weeks.                                                           

                The Broncos return home for their final two regular games of the 2011 season the next two Saturdays.  Wyoming will face Boise State on Nov. 26, with New Mexico coming to Bronco Stadium Dec. 3.
