Broncos In The NFL: Week 9

BOISE, Idaho - Jay Ajayi made his long-awaited NFL debut and George Iloka and the Cincinnati Bengals remained undefeated to highlight the Boise State alumni in the NFL’s Week 9.

After spending the first eight weeks of the season on Miami’s short-term injured reserve due to a preseason rib injury, Ajayi was activated for the Dolphins’ game at Buffalo and ran for 41 yards on five carries.

Iloka and the Bengals, meanwhile, beat Cleveland, 31-10, to move to 8-0 as one of just three unbeaten teams left in the league (New England, Carolina).

Here’s a breakdown of how the Bronco alumni fared in Week 9:

RB Jay Ajayi – Miami Dolphins
Ajayi made his NFL debut Sunday at Buffalo after missing the first eight weeks of the season (ribs) on the short-term injured reserve. Against the Bills, Ajayi impressed with 41 yards on just five carries in Miami’s 33-17 loss.

TE/FB Richie Brockel – Carolina Panthers
Brockel was placed on injured reserve by the Panthers on Oct. 23 and will miss the rest of the season.

OT Ryan Clady – Denver Broncos
Clady is out for the 2015 season after suffering a torn ACL during OTAs in May.

DT Tyrone Crawford – Dallas Cowboys
Crawford started at defensive tackle in Dallas’ 33-27 overtime loss to Philadelphia. He made a solo tackle, had three quarterback hurries and broke up a pass.

S George Iloka – Cincinnati Bengals
Iloka started at safety and made four solo tackles as Cincinnati beat Cleveland, 31-10, to stay unbeaten at 8-0.

S Jeron Johnson - Washington
Johnson saw action in Washington’s 27-10 loss to New England, making six tackles (five solo).

DE DeMarcus Lawrence – Dallas Cowboys
Lawrence had four tackles (one solo) in Dallas’ 33-27 overtime loss to Philadelphia.

OT Charles Leno – Chicago Bears
Leno started at left tackle in Chicago’s 22-19 win over San Diego Monday night.

RB Doug Martin – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Martin started and rushed for 31 yards on 11 carries and caught a pair of passes for 12 yards in Tampa Bay’s 32-18 loss to the New York Giants.

LB Shea McClellin – Chicago Bears
McClellin was inactive due to injury in Chicago’s 22-19 victory over San Diego Monday night.

QB Kellen Moore – Dallas Cowboys
Moore was inactive as the Cowboys’ third quarterback in Sunday’s 33-27 overtime loss to Philadelphia. Tuesday, Moore was released by the Cowboys and, after clearing waivers over the 24-hour period, was signed to the Dallas practice squad Wednesday.

C Matt Paradis – Denver Broncos
Paradis started at center as the Broncos suffered their first loss of the season Sunday, a 27-24 defeat against Indianapolis.

FB Blake Renaud – Minnesota Vikings
Renaud was signed by the Minnesota Vikings to the team’s practice squad on Oct. 27. He had spent the first three weeks of the season on the Vikings’ practice squad before being released Sept. 29.

CB Orlando Scandrick – Dallas Cowboys
Scandrick was placed on injured reserve last month and will miss the 2015 season after suffering a torn ACL during a preseason practice.

S Jamar Taylor – Miami Dolphins
Taylor started at cornerback in Miami’s 33-17 loss at Buffalo, making three solo tackles.

CB Kyle Wilson – New Orleans Saints
Wilson saw action and made two solo tackles in New Orleans’ 34-28 loss to Tennessee.

DT Billy Winn – Indianapolis Colts
Winn was inactive for Indianapolis’ 27-24 victory over Denver Sunday.
