Broncos In The NFL: Week 8

BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State contingent in Dallas was on fire once again in Week 8, as Tyrone Crawford, DeMarcus Lawrence and Orlando Scandrick led the Cowboy defense shutting down Washington in a 33-19 win.

Crawford and Lawrence harassed Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins all day, each recording a sack, with Crawford's forcing a fumble that was recovered by Lawrence. Crawford also blocked a Washington field goal which was scooped up by Scandrick and returned to the Washington 4-yard line. Scandrick also finished the game with eight tackles, including two for loss.

Entering Week 8 there were 21 former Broncos under contract with NFL clubs, with 14 on active 53-man rosters. Linebacker Shea McClellin (New England Patriots), safeties Chanceller James (San Francisco 49ers) and Jeron Johnson (Jacksonville Jaguars), and defensive tackle Billy Winn (Denver Broncos) will spend the season on injured reserve after suffering season-ending injuries during the preseason. Three more Broncos, offensive lineman Travis Averill (Cleveland Browns), running back Jeremy McNichols (San Francisco 49ers), and quarterback Kellen Moore (Dallas Cowboys) are currently on the practice squads of their respective teams.

Here's how the Bronco alumni fared in Week 8:

Jay Ajayi, RB (Miami Dolphins)
Ajayi started at running back, rushing for 23 yards, and catching four passes for 18 yards in Miami's 40-0 loss to Baltimore Thursday night.

Tuesday morning, it was announced that Ajayi was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kamalei Correa, LB (Baltimore Ravens)
Correa saw action in Baltimore's 40-0 victory over Miami Thursday night, but did not record a stat.

Tyrone Crawford, DE (Dallas Cowboys)
Crawford started at defensive tackle in Dallas' 33-19 victory over Washington. He recorded four tackles, including a sack which forced a fumble that was recovered by DeMarcus Lawrence, and blocked a field goal that was returned to the Washington 4 by Orlando Scandrick.

Donte Deayon, CB (New York Giants)
Deayon and the Giants were on a bye in Week 8.

George Iloka, S (Cincinnati Bengals)
Iloka started at free safety and made five tackles (four solo) with a pass breakup in Sunday's 24-23 win over Indianapolis.

DeMarcus Lawrence, DE (Dallas Cowboys)
Lawrence started at defensive end in Sunday's 33-19 victory over Washington, recording another sack while recovering a fumble. Lawrence now leads the NFL with 10.5 sacks.

Charles Leno, Jr., OT (Chicago Bears)
Leno started at left tackle in Chicago's 20-12 loss to New Orleans on Sunday.

Doug Martin, RB (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
Martin started at running back Sunday for Tampa Bay, running for 71 yards on 18 carries and catching a pass for four yards in the Buccaneers' 17-3 loss to Carolina.

Rees Odhiambo, G (Seattle Seahawks)
Odhiambo started at left tackle in Sunday's 41-38 victory over Houston.

Matt Paradis - C - (Denver Broncos)
Paradis started at center for Denver in the Broncos' 29-19 loss to Kansas City.

Orlando Scandrick, CB (Dallas Cowboys)
Scandrick started at cornerback in Dallas' 33-19 victory over Washington, making eight tackles, including two for loss, and returning a blocked field goal 86 yards to the Washington 4.

Jamar Taylor, S (Cleveland Browns)
Taylor started at cornerback Sunday, making six tackles (five solo) and breaking up two passes in Cleveland's 33-16 loss to Minnesota.

Darian Thompson, S (New York Giants)
Thompson and the Giants were on a bye in Week 8.

Tanner Vallejo, LB (Buffalo Bills)
Vallejo saw action in Buffalo's 34-14 victory over Oakland, but did not record a stat.
