BOISE, Idaho The Boise State University football team moved to 11th in the Bowl Championship Series standings announced Sunday (Oct. 26) afternoon, and also to 11th in the three major college polls following its 33-16 win at San Jose State University this past Friday (Oct. 24).
Undefeated with a 7-0 mark, and a leading the Western Athletic Conference at 3-0, the Broncos have a BSC average of .6363 to move up one spot from last week’s standings.
In the three areas which comprise the BCS standings, Boise State is 11th in the USA Today Coaches and Harris Interactive polls, and it’s tied for seventh in the computers rankings.
For the second straight week, the University of Texas is number one in the BCS standings. The University of Alabama is second followed by Penn State, the University of Oklahoma and USC.
The University of Utah is the only other non-BCS conference team ahead of the Broncos. The Utes, who did not play this past weekend, are 10th with an average of .6698.
Boise State is also 11th in the Associated Press poll, which does not count in the BCS rankings. The Broncos were 13th in last week’s media and coaches poll.
The Broncos play their second straight road game this Saturday (Nov. 1) when they travel to New Mexico State University
for a 5:00 p.m. (MT) kickoff in Las Cruses.
