Nawahine Is Bronco Athlete Of The Week

BOISE, Idaho - Sophomore safety Kekoa Nawahine was voted by Bronco fans the Boise State Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 2-8.

Nawahine recorded his second interception of the season and made a team-high nine tackles (seven solo) in Friday night's 24-7 victory at BYU, Boise State's first win in Provo since 2003. His efforts were part of an overall defensive performance that held BYU to just 66 rushing yards on 23 carries.

Nawahine and the Broncos (3-2, 1-0 MW) begin a seven-game stretch of Mountain West play this Saturday night in San Diego, taking on No. 19/18 San Diego State (6-0, 2-0 MW) at 8:30 p.m. MT on CBS Sports Network.
