BRONCOS MOVED UP THREE PLACES TO 22ND IN BOTH MAJOR COLLEGE POLLS

BOISE, Idaho Improving its record to 4-0 with a 41-34 win over the University of Hawai’i this past Saturday (Sept. 23), Boise State University moved up three places to 22nd in both major college football polls.

The Broncos received 257 points in the USA Today Coaches poll and 226 in the Associated Press media poll. This is the second straight week Boise State has been ranked in the top 25 of both polls. The Broncos were ranked 25th last week.

Ohio State University continues to hold down the number one spot in each poll with a 4-0 record. The Buckeyes received 59 first place votes and 1,570 points in the coaches poll. They also received 59 first place votes in the media poll and recorded 1,617 points.

TCU is the only other school from a non Bowl Championship Series conference in the top 25. The Horn Frogs are ranked 15 by the AP and 17th by the coaches.

After gaining its first WAC win of the 2006 season with its victory over Hawai’i, Boise State plays its final non-conference game of the year this Saturday (Sept. 30) at the University of Utah. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. (MT).
