Boise State Remains at No. 3 in National Polls

BOISE, Idaho - A bye-week left the Boise State football team idle in the national rankings, Sunday (Sept. 12), as the Broncos remained at No. 3 in both the Associated Press Top-25 Poll and USA Today Coaches Top-25 Poll for the second consecutive week.

Boise State (1-0) trails only Alabama (2-0) and Ohio State (2-0) in both polls. The Broncos received one first-place vote in this week's AP Poll and finished with 1,306 points. Boise State accumulated 1,278 points in their third-place vote by the coaches.

Alabama topped both polls once again, this week receiving 52 first-place votes and 1,466 points from the AP. In the Coaches Poll the Tide received 55 first-place votes and 1,470 points. Ohio State earned 1,410 points in both polls, while receiving five first-place votes by the AP and four No. 1 votes by the coaches.

Rounding out the top five in the AP Poll is TCU (1,235 points) at No. 4 and Oregon (1,172) at No. 5. In the Coaches Poll, Texas (1,262) sits at No. 4, while TCU (1,168) was voted No. 5.

Boise State returns to the field next Saturday (Sept. 18) when the Broncos travel to Laramie, Wyo. for a showdown against the University of Wyoming. The game will be broadcast on CBS College Sports and is scheduled to kick-off at 6 p.m. (MST).
