Boise State In The NFL: Week 1

BOISE, Idaho - The National Football League kicked off its 2014 regular season this past weekend and numerous Boise State alumni saw action throughout Sunday's contests.

Seven of the 15 Broncos that opened the season on NFL 53-man rosters started in Week 1. Below is a look at how each of those 15 Broncos fared as the 2014 NFL season got underway.

Richie Brockel (2006-09) - TE/FB - Carolina Panthers
Brockel saw action in Carolina's 20-14 win over Tampa Bay Sunday, but did not record any statistics.

Ryan Clady (2005-07) - LT - Denver Broncos
Clady started at left tackle in Denver's 31-24 win over Indianapolis on Sunday Night Football. He was part of a line that contributed to the Broncos' 102 yards rushing in the contest and protected the blind side of quarterback Peyton Manning, who went 22-for-36 for 269 yards and three touchdowns. The Bronco offensive line gave up just one sack in the contest.

Daryn Colledge (2002-05) - LG - Miami Dolphins
Started at left guard in Sunday's 33-20 win over New England. Colledge and the Miami offensive line helped the team gain 191 yards on the ground including 134 from running back Knowshon Moreno. Additionally, Dolphin quarterback Ryan Tannehill was sacked just once in the game.

Tyrone Crawford (2010-11) - DE - Dallas Cowboys
Crawford started at left defensive end for the Cowboys in Sunday's 28-17 loss to San Francisco. He was credited with a quarterback hurry in the contest.

George Iloka (2008-11) - S - Cincinnati Bengals
Iloka started at safety for the Bengals in the team's 23-16 victory at Baltimore, making three solo tackles.

Jeron Johnson (2007-09) - SS - Seattle Seahawks
Johnson saw action in the defensive backfield for Seattle as the defending Super Bowl champions opened their quest for a repeat with a 36-16 rout of Green Bay in the league's Thursday-night opener. He made a solo tackle on special teams in the contest.

DeMarcus Lawrence (2012-13) - DE - Dallas Cowboys
Lawrence was placed on the injured reserve/designated to return list by Dallas on Sept. 2. This means that Lawrence, who suffered a broken right foot during camp in late July, cannot practice with the Cowboys until after the team's sixth game and cannot play until the team's ninth contest, at the earliest.

Charles Leno, Jr. (2010-13) - DE - Chicago Bears
Leno, Jr., a rookie offensive lineman and 2013 first-team All-Mountain West selection, was one of seven Bears made inactive prior to Sunday's game against Buffalo.

Doug Martin (2008-11) - RB - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Started at running back for Tampa Bay in its 20-14 loss to Carolina. Martin rushed nine times for just nine yards and caught one pass for seven yards, and suffered a left-knee injury during the game which limited his playing time.

Shea McClellin (2008-11) - LB - Chicago Bears
McClellin started at linebacker for the Bears in the team's 23-20 overtime loss to Buffalo. He made two tackles (one solo) in the contest.

Kellen Moore (2008-11) - QB - Detroit Lions
Moore, Detroit's third-string quarterback, was inactive for Monday night's 35-14 win over the New York Giants.

Austin Pettis (2007-10) - CB - St. Louis Rams
Pettis saw action in St. Louis' 34-6 loss to Minnesota on Sunday, but did not record any stats.

Jamar Taylor (2006-09) - CB - Miami Dolphins
Came on as a reserve and made three solo tackles in Miami's 33-20 win over New England on Sunday.

Kyle Wilson (2006-09) - CB - New York Jets
Came on as a reserve as the Jets temporarily sidetracked the Oakland Raiders' march to Super Bowl XLIX with a 19-14 win Sunday. Wilson made a tackle for a loss while also adding a tackle on special teams in the contest.

Billy Winn (2008-11) - DE - Cleveland Browns
Winn started at right end for Cleveland Sunday as the Browns fell 30-27 at Pittsburgh after coming all the way back from a 24-point deficit to tie the game at 27-apiece. Winn recorded a pair of solo tackles in the game, one of which went for a loss.
